Valentines Surprise AoixSam fluff

Valentine's Day. Arguably the most romantic holiday one could spend with their love. But this year, Sam was alone. His boyfriend, Aoi, had promised to come back from a business trip earlier that month but with only a few weeks until valentine's day, his initial plans would have to end if Aoi didn't come home soon. He sighed and stroked the edge of the frame with a picture of a grinning Aoi, that Sam had taken last year while they were at the beach last summer. He missed him dearly.

Days went by and Aoi still wasn't home. Although Sam had texted Aoi and called him, he needed his warmth. His kindness. Everything that made Aoi, Aoi. Nights went by when Sam slept alone in his cold bed. Sometimes he would even crying himself to sleep.

One night before valentine's day, the front door opened. Sam froze. Too scared to think and too terrified of what it could be, Sam did absolutely nothing for a good ten seconds. Heavy footsteps shook off the snow that was outside and Sam heard the footsteps come closer and closer until they stopped at his closed door.

He heard a man's voice swear quietly and walk quickly into the kitchen. Sam bolted to the closet bringing out a wooden baseball bat. He honestly, did not want to do this the random person but while Aoi was away, he was the protector of this house. Slowly he crept to the kitchen's doorway. The intruder was still there, cloaked in the shadows. Sam estimated his location by the sound of munching chips and swung downward.

WHACK!

"WHAT THE FUCK!?" Aoi's voice exclaimed through the darkness as he went into the fetal position, clutching his head. Sam flicked on the lights. "AOI?!" Sam tossed the baseball bat to the floor and looked tearfully at what he had just done to his boyfriend. He leaned down to his height. "I-I'm s-sorry... I..I..I thought you w-were some robber..." Sam sobbed, cradling Aoi's head in his hands.  Aoi groaned in pain still clutching his head. "It's.. alright...." Aoi said, pained. "You only did what.. you thought was right..." Aoi sat up slightly, with one hand still at the crown of his head and half-hugged a sobbing Sam. "H-How are y-you even here..." Sam sniffled and continued with his sobbing. "I took the early flight back so I could surprise you when you woke up." Aoi smiled wryly and took his hand away from his head to hug Sam properly. "You.. you did that f-for me?" Sam sniffed.

"Of course." Aoi replied and kissed the top of Sam's forehead tenderly. Overcome with joy and guilt, Sam smiled happily, wiping away tears from his crying face. "I-Is your head bleeding?" Sam glanced at Aoi as he regained normal breathing patterns. "Huh? Uh, I don't think so. Just kinda sore." The corner's of Aoi's mouth pulled into a slight smile as Sam kissed his head gently. "Hm, C'mere Sammy. I wanna see your face." Aoi wrapped one arm around Sam's waist gingerly. He blushed furiously and looked at Aoi's beautiful, crimson eyes. The sun was just beginning to rise in the kitchen window, making his eyes shine with glee and compassion. "You're really very beautiful, Sam." He whispered stroking the edge of Sam's jawline with the back of his index finger.

Sam blushed madly at the gesture. He wished they could stay like this forever. Aoi pulled Sam into a soft kiss that made Sam colour up to his ears.

"Happy Valentine's day, my dearest Sammy."
